First Presbyterian Church of South Amboy
150 N. Broadway
South Amboy, NJ 08879
Our typical worship service lasts about an hour, sometimes running just a little longer.

Finding Our Parking Lot
A Quick Note About Parking
Our church is located on N. Broadway, but our parking lot is not accessed from Broadway. Most GPS apps will bring you to the front of the church rather than to the parking lot entrance.
Our parking lot can be entered from:
Church Street – this is a one-way street and is best accessed from N. Stevens Avenue
Augusta Street – our entrance is behind the Wells Fargo
Once you arrive, you are welcome to park in any white-lined parking space.
There is also ample free street parking along N. Broadway.
Need directions directly to the parking lot?
Please use the following link to navigate directly to the parking lot entrance:
[Get Directions to Our Parking Lot]
The parking lot coordinates are:
40.4847073, -74.2817844
Design note: We strongly recommend making “Get Directions to Our Parking Lot” a prominent clickable button that opens Google Maps using the coordinates above. A simple photo, map, or aerial image showing the parking lot entrance with an arrow could also be extremely helpful for first-time visitors.
Where Do I Go When I Arrive?
Welcome!
You can enter the church through either:
Our main entrance facing N. Broadway, which leads directly into the sanctuary
The side entrance by the parking lot, which is the entrance most of our members use
The side entrance is also handicap accessible. Chair lifts are available to take guests upstairs to the sanctuary or downstairs toward the bathrooms and fellowship hall.
If you're not sure where to go, don't worry! One of our members will be happy to help you.
Bringing Children?
Your Children Are Welcome Here
Children are always welcome to worship alongside their families. We also offer a children's ministry during our Sunday worship service for toddlers through junior high.
Our children's ministry is intentionally warm, welcoming, and age-appropriate. Children participate in Bible lessons, crafts, and activities designed to help them have fun while growing in their faith in Jesus Christ.
How does it work?
Shortly before the service begins, parents may bring their children to Room 1, located near the side entrance. Children can be picked up there when the worship service concludes.
When dropping off your child, please let our teachers know if there is anyone other than you who is authorized to pick them up.
Additional Questions
-
What to Expect
Our worship is centered on the Word of God and the gospel of Jesus Christ.A typical service includes:
Praise and congregational singing
Prayer
Corporate confession and a time of remembering the promises of the gospel and the assurance of forgiveness we have in Christ
Scripture reading
An expository sermon, typically working through a book of the Bible
The Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of each month
When you arrive, an usher will provide you with a bulletin that will guide you through the service.Bibles are available in the pews, and we use the English Standard Version (ESV).
Design/content note: We don't need to over-explain our liturgy here. The goal is simply to give a visitor a comfortable picture of what Sunday morning will look like. The language about confession and assurance should emphasize the gospel and God's promise of forgiveness rather than making this sound like individual or sacramental confession.
